Chef Matt grew up on a small farm, where he learned early on the importance of knowing where our food comes from. His family practiced seasonal and sustainable eating. His mother’s cooking, paired with his deep understanding of ingredients, sparked his passion for becoming a chef.
His dedication to the culinary arts led him to one of his proudest achievements: being selected as one of the five Pastry Chefs at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Cooking for the Mousse there was both an exciting and challenging experience.
Now, he brings his passion for desserts to the UNC student body, eager to share his knowledge and create a rich learning environment for his team of future Pastry Chefs. His commitment to teaching new culinarians about the origins of ingredients and sustainable practices continues to inspire us all.
