CDS Goes Cashless
Exciting Update: Carolina Dining Services will be going cashless starting June 26th!
We are committed to providing a safe, efficient, and enjoyable dining experience for all our guests at our various locations across campus. To enhance safety, speed, and convenience, we are excited to announce that CDS will be going cashless starting June 26th, 2025. Cash payments will no longer be accepted at any of our dining locations on that date. This will help streamline transactions and reduce wait times, so that you can spend less time in line and have more time to enjoy your meal!
We will be accepting credit/debit card, Flex dollars, Carolina Convenience, and digital payment methods at all our locations.
Flex Dollars
You can add Flex to your One Card with an active meal plan in increments of $50 dollars. Flex can only be used for food purchases, and will continue to rollover until you graduate or leave the university. Please visit our meal plan page to learn more about adding Flex.
Tar Heel Tellers
If you have an active One Card, then you can use a Tar Heel Teller to add money to your Carolina Convenience account. You can also get a temporary print card and load money into it at a Tar Heel Teller. The tellers can be located in the McColl Building and the R.B. House Undergraduate Library on the main floor. You can also visit the One Card office to have your cash loaded into your account. Please visit the One Card office website to learn more about Tar Heel Tellers.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we make this transition. We look forward to providing a much improved experience to all our customers!
