Let’s face it, you’re not going to Merritt’s to get your health fix, but what add-ons pair well with bacon while still providing that nutritional boost? The first step is to choose a bread with lots of fiber. Sunflower bread, light wheat, and gluten-free hearty grain pack the most fiber at 5G per serving.
When it comes to cheese, Swiss is significantly lower in sodium than most cheese and is not as processed. Avocado is a tasty addition that is also rich in healthy fats. Lastly, adding vegetables does not significantly increase calories, but it does pack on the extra nutrients your body will love.
